Tips and Suggestions
- The taste of your Mastani shake heavily depends on the mangoes used. Opt for ripe, sweet mangoes like Alphonso or Kesar for the best flavour.
- Adjust the amount of milk to achieve your desired thickness. Less milk makes a thicker shake, and more makes a lighter one.
- Use almond milk or coconut milk and vegan ice cream for a dairy-free version.
- Since my mangoes were sweet and I added ice cream, I skipped adding sugar to the Mango Mastani. If you would like to add sugar, add 1 tablespoon sugar (adjust according to preference)
Frequently asked questions
Yes, you can make Mango Mastani using canned mango pulp if fresh mangoes are not available. Adjust the sugar accordingly, as canned pulp may be sweeter.
Mango Mastani is best enjoyed fresh. However, you can store the mango shake part in the refrigerator for a day. Add ice cream and garnish just before serving.
Yes, Mango Mastani can be made with frozen mangoes. Using frozen mangoes can actually make the shake thicker and colder, similar to a smoothie. Just ensure to blend it well to achieve a smooth consistency.
For a lighter version of Mango Mastani, you can skip the ice cream and use chilled milk to achieve creaminess. However, the texture and taste will differ from the traditional recipe.
