Mango Mastani is a rich and delicious summer drink, that originated in India. It is nothing but a thick mango milkshake topped with ice cream, nuts and cut mango pieces.
The milkshake is prepared using mango puree, thick milk and ice cream. Though the contents sound simple, it is one of the most gorgeous and rich mango recipes that I have come across.

About Mango Mastani
It is Mango Season and I can’t stop getting excited about it. My weekend shopping doesn’t end without a box of Alphonso Mangoes, this whole summer. This weekend when I bought a box of super sweet Alphonso Mangoes, my daughter insisted that we do some recipes immediately. So, we quickly put together this simple Mango Mastani which was later relished by all of us.
If you are a mango lover like me, then I am sure you enjoy trying refreshing mango recipes during summer. I was a big fan of Mango Lassi until I came across this beautiful and delicious Mango Mastani. I happened to taste this rich dessert at a friend’s place and fell in love with it.
This rich and creamy drink is nothing but a simple mango milkshake topped with ice cream, nuts and mango pieces. It is perfect for the summer season and very simple to prepare. Mango Mastani resembles a Falooda but is much easier to make. The intense mango flavour of this drink is sure to tempt anyone!
Mango: I prefer using fresh, ripe and sweet Indian Mangoes for this recipe. However, you can use any other Mango variety that you get in your country or even sweetened canned mango pulp.
Milk: For a rich and creamy drink, I suggest using full-fat milk.
Ice Cream: Though this is optional, I love adding a scoop of ice cream to the drink while blending. It gives a lovely texture to the Mango Mastani and tastes wonderful.
I have used Vanilla Ice Cream in this recipe. You can use Mango Ice Cream too.
Nuts, Tutti Frutti, Glazed Cherries, Mango Pieces and more Ice Cream for topping – Customize them according to your preference.
How to make Mango Mastani
The best part about this recipe is, that there is no cooking involved here. All you need is a blender. Anybody can put this together in no time.
Add the mango pieces, milk and ice cream into the blender. Blend until it becomes thick and smooth.
Pour the drink into your serving glasses. Add another scoop of ice cream on top. Further top it with nuts, tutti frutti, and cut mango pieces. Serve cold.
Tips and Suggestions
You can make this Mango Mastani Vegan by using Vegan Ice Cream and Dairy Free Milk.
Use chilled Mango and Milk to get a thick and cold mango milkshake.
Since my mangoes were sweet and I added ice-cream as well, I skipped adding sugar to the Mango Mastani. If you would like to add sugar, add 1 tbsp sugar (adjust according to preference)

Mango Mastani | | Mango Milkshake with Ice Cream
- 4 Medium Ripe Mangoes Peel, Cube and Chill
- 2 cups Whole Milk Chilled
- 2 scoops Vanilla Ice Cream
- 3 scoops Vanilla Ice Cream
- 2 tbsp Chopped Mango
- 1 tbsp Chopped Nuts I used almonds and cashews
- 3 tsp Tutti Frutti
- Add the peeled, cubed and chilled mango pieces, whole milk and ice cream into the blender.
- Blend until it becomes thick and smooth.
- Pour the drink into your serving glasses.
- Add another scoop of ice cream on top. Further top it with nuts, tutti frutti, and cut mango pieces. Serve cold.
