Air Fryer Roasted Nuts are an easy, delicious and addictive snack that you’ll want to make often. It’s crunchy, flavourful, and filling!

I always look for easy snack recipes, and these air fryer roasted nuts are one of my favourite afternoon snacks. These air-fried nuts can be had as a mid-morning or evening snack. This recipe is so easy to make with simple spices from the pantry. Try roasting almonds in an air fryer. You will never return to store-bought roasted nuts. Your entire family will love it. It’s that addictive!

I always look forward to the assorted nut boxes I receive from family and friends during Diwali. These roasted masala nuts can be part of those gift boxes you give your friends during the Festive Season!

Roasting Nuts in the Air Fryer

My kids love nuts! Due to the nut-free policy in their school, I don’t get to pack nuts for them in their lunch or snack box. So, I always ensure I have a jar of roasted nuts in my pantry for them to snack on when they return home. The one thing about eating nuts is it is super addictive, but it’s not something that we can consume in huge quantities. So we need to be mindful of how much we eat. Just a few nuts are enough to keep us full for a while.

When I made these roasted nuts for the first time, my husband asked why I would use my air fryer for roasting nuts. I asked him, why not? It’s mainly because the air fryer cooks the nuts evenly, and it takes significantly less time and effort to get it done.

We get roasted nuts in all grocery stores but nothing like homemade, right?
It takes hardly 10 minutes to prepare these spice-coated masala nuts in your air fryer. And the most significant advantage is you can customize the spices and seasonings that go in along with the nuts. This way, you can use different spices every time you make roasted nuts.

Why I love roasting nuts in the Air Fryer

Roasted Nuts are so easy to prepare in the air fryer. Takes just 6 minutes to air fry.

Spices can be customized to our taste. Also, these nuts are healthy and addictive!

Air frying nuts is a healthier alternative to traditional deep frying, as it uses minimal oil and produces a crispy texture similar to deep-frying.

Can be made in bulk and stored in a container. Your everyday snack is ready!

Roasted Nuts are a great option as a gift during festivals and celebrations.

Assorted nuts can be used in this recipe, and these can be served as a welcome appetizer when you host parties and potluck.

    Ingredients

How to Roast Nuts in the Air fryer

Add cashews and almonds to a bowl. Add oil to the bowl and mix well.

Next, add salt, sugar, pepper powder and chaat masala. Mix thoroughly using a spoon.

Transfer the nut mixture to an air fryer basket.

Air fry at 350F for 6 minutes. Shake the basket in between at around 3 minutes.

Transfer the air-fried nuts to a tray lined with parchment paper. Spread it out and let the nuts come to room temperature.

Store the air fryer nuts in an air-tight container and enjoy!

    Tips & Suggestions

Some common nuts that are air fried include almonds, pecans, cashews, and peanuts. Air-fried nuts can be eaten as a healthy snack or added to salads, trail mix, or other recipes.

It’s important to note that different nuts may require other cooking times and temperatures in the air fryer. If you feel your nuts are not roasted by 6 minutes, air fry a little longer, but keep checking at  1-minute intervals. You don’t want to burn your nuts.

I have used oil in this recipe. Ghee can be used in place of oil. It gives a great flavour.

Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket. This helps in cooking the nuts evenly.

They may be soft as soon as you take the nuts out of the air fryer basket. Cool them off completely to taste the crunchy, well-roasted nuts.

Spices can be customized to your taste. Please adjust the quantity according to what you prefer.

Garam Masala, Roasted Paprika, Garlic Powder, Chili Powder, and Turmeric Powder are a few other spices that can be used.

Sugar gives a balance of taste. You can use honey in place of sugar.

How to store these Roasted Nuts?

Allow the roasted air fryer nuts to cool down completely. Once they come to room temperature, store them in an air-tight container. These nuts stay good at room temperature in a dry container for up to 4 weeks.
