Air fryer toasted nuts can be had as a mid-morning or evening snack. These air-fried nuts are easy to make with simple spices from the pantry. Try roasting almonds in an air fryer. You will never return to store-bought roasted nuts. Your entire family will love it. It’s crunchy, filling and addictive!

I always look forward to the assorted nut boxes I receive from family and friends during Diwali. These roasted masala nuts can be part of those gift boxes you give your friends during the Festive Season.

About Air Fryer Nuts Recipe

My kids love nuts. Due to the nut-free policy in their school, I don’t get to pack nuts for them in their lunch or snack box. So, I always ensure I have a jar of roasted nuts in my pantry for them to snack on when they return home. The one thing about eating nuts is it is super addictive, but it’s not something that we can consume in huge quantities. So, we need to be mindful of how much we eat. Just a few nuts are enough to keep us full for a while.

When I made these roasted nuts for the first time, my husband asked why I would use my air fryer for roasting nuts. I asked him, why not? It’s mainly because the air fryer cooks the nuts evenly, and it takes significantly less time and effort to get it done.

We get roasted nuts in all grocery stores, but nothing like homemade, right?
Preparing these spice-coated masala nuts in your air fryer takes hardly 10 minutes. The most significant advantage is that you can customize the spices and seasonings that go in along with the nuts. This way, you can use different spices whenever you make roasted nuts.

Why I love roasting nuts in the Air Fryer

Healthier Alternative: Air frying requires significantly less oil than traditional roasting, making it a heart-healthy option without compromising the flavour.

Quick and Efficient: The air fryer’s rapid hot air circulation cooks nuts faster than conventional methods, saving time and energy.

Versatility: From almonds to walnuts and pecans, the air fryer accommodates various nuts, allowing you to customize your mix easily with simple ingredients.

Crispy Texture: The air fryer excels at producing a satisfying crunch, giving nuts that delightful bite that’s hard to achieve through other methods.

Less Mess: No more oil splatters or sticky residue – air fryer roasted nuts keep your kitchen cleaner with very little oil and make post-cooking cleanup a breeze.

Delicious Snack: These roasted nuts can be made in bulk for a great snack option. They’re just perfect and easy to stock up on for those evening snacks.

Great for gifting: Roasted nuts make a great Christmas gift. This recipe is perfect for the holiday season.

Tips & Suggestions to Make the Best Roasted Nuts in the Air Fryer

Some air-fried nuts include raw almonds, pecans, cashew nuts, and peanuts. Air-fried nuts can be eaten as a healthy snack or added to salads, trail mix, or other recipes.

It’s important to note that different nuts may require other cooking times and temperatures in the air fryer. If you feel your nuts are not roasted by 6 minutes, air fry a little longer, but keep checking at  1-minute intervals. You don’t want to burn your nuts.

I have used oil to make this easy recipe, but ghee can be used in place of oil. It gives a great flavour.

Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket. This helps cook the nuts evenly. It is better to place the nuts in a single layer to air fry evenly.

Air fryer toasted nuts are soft when you take the nuts from the basket. Cool them off completely to taste the crunchy, well-roasted nuts.

Spices can be customized to your taste. Please adjust the quantity according to what you prefer.

Sugar gives a balance of taste. You can use honey, brown sugar or maple syrup instead of regular sugar.
