Air fryer roasted carrots are like a tasty makeover for regular carrots. You take fresh carrot sticks, give them a little hug of olive oil, sprinkle some salt and pepper, and pop them into the air fryer. The air fryer works like a mini oven with a fan, making the carrots crispy outside and tender inside.

Air fryer roasted vegetables are a favourite snack for my entire family. My daughter loves baby carrots and often asks me to pack them in her snack box. She thoroughly enjoys these perfect air fryer carrots, and from then on, I make this air fryer recipe at least twice a week with different seasonings. A healthy and tempting finger food!

Why you will love this recipe

Roasted Carrots are an amazing, simple side dish for any meal. This delicious side dish can be had with Rice, Soup, Garlic Bread, Boiled Potatoes etc.

It can also be had as a snack. Kids love having this in their snack boxes or as finger food in the evenings. This simple recipe is a great option for busy weeknights.

The health factor makes them irresistible – minimal oil usage compared to traditional roasting methods, making it a guilt-free snack or side dish. The air fryer’s efficiency in cooking ensures that the carrots retain their nutrients, making this easy recipe a win-win for both taste buds and well-being.

Air fryer roasted carrots are easy to prepare in significantly less time. Also, the seasoning can be customized with simple ingredients to suit our taste. This makes the recipe a very simple one that can be made even at the last minute.

What do you need to make an Air fryer carrots recipe?

Baby carrots or Fresh carrots, peeled and sliced into uniform sticks

Oil of your choice (vegetable oil, avocado oil, sunflower oil or olive oil are good choices)

Salt and black pepper to taste

Optional: Garlic powder, paprika, cumin, oregano, dried parsley or your favourite spices

How to Roast Carrots in The Air Fryer

Wash baby carrots, and then pat dry with paper towels.

To a mixing bowl, add baby carrots, little oil and seasonings. Mix well.

Preheat the air fryer to 400F for 5 minutes. Arrange the carrots in a single layer on the air fryer basket.

Air fry carrots at 400F for 15 minutes.

Once done, take the air fryer carrot fries out of the basket and serve as a snack or side. You can garnish with some fresh parsley or any fresh herbs if desired.

Tips & Variations

Uniformity is Key: If using big whole carrots or large carrots, peel and cut the carrots into similar-sized sticks to ensure even cooking.

Mind the Temperature: Preheat your air fryer for optimal results. Adjust cooking time to more or less depending on how tender you want the carrots to be.

Don’t Overcrowd: A crowded basket can lead to uneven cooking. Give the carrots some space.

Shake it Up: Remember to shake the basket halfway through to achieve that perfect crunch.

Experiment with Flavors: Don’t hesitate to get creative with spices while making this carrot recipe. Onion Powder, Garlic powder, paprika, chaat masala, garam masala, fresh thyme, sprinkle of brown sugar can add an extra layer of flavour.

Sweet Variation: Add a touch of sweetness by adding butter and drizzling honey or maple syrup over the carrots before air frying for a delightful caramelized finish.

Nutty Crunch: Toss in some chopped nuts like almonds or pecans during the last few minutes of cooking for an added crunch and nutty flavor.

Cheesy Delight: To compliment the natural sweetness of the carrots, grate some Parmesan or sprinkle nutritional yeast over the cooked carrots right after air frying for a savoury, cheesy twist.

What to serve Roasted Carrots with

Dipping Delight: Pair the flavorful carrots with a tangy yogurt dip, mayonnaise, hummus or a spicy aioli for an extra kick.

Salad Superstar: Toss them into a fresh salad for added texture and flavor.

Snack Attack: Serve as a guilt-free snack during movie nights or gatherings with a bowl of soup or sandwich.

Side Dish Perfection: Complement your main course ( rice, boiled & mashed potatoes) with these delightful carrots as a perfect side dish for a wholesome meal.
