    This 3 Ingredient Oreo Mousse is creamy, light & delicious. With just 3 ingredients, this dessert is so easy to whip up. A great activity for kids since it involves no cooking or baking. This mousse is eggless, gelatin-free. I bet you can’t find a recipe easier than this. So, let’s quickly get started on how to make this oreo mousse.

    3 Ingredient Oreo Mousse

    I love OREOS. Every time I buy a pack of these cookies, I plan to share this recipe. But, before I can get to making the mousse, I end up eating more than half the oreo cookies all by myself. So, this time when I bought the cookies, I decided to make the oreo mousse first and reserve the rest for my snack time.

    Actually, the first time I made this mousse was by accident. I wanted to make a no-bake Oreo Cheesecake for a get-together with friends and forgot to buy few important ingredients. At the last minute, I came up with the idea of making individual mousse cups using the ingredients I had in hand. I learnt this chocolate mousse recipe when I attended a baking class, a couple of years back. I combined that mousse with oreo cookies and made a simple and delicious 3 Ingredient Oreo Mousse. Of course, it was a success. A dessert with oreo can never be a bad idea.

    The best part about this dessert is that it requires just 3 ingredients and a few minutes of your time. You can make them ahead, refrigerate them a day in advance and serve them to your guests as well.

    Can be made in less than 20 minutes

    You can make it ahead and store it in regrigerator for a couple of days

    Easy to prepare and can be made by kids as well

    Perfect dessert for a party or for gifting.

    Oreo Cookies , of course! – You can use any flavour.

    Heavy Whipping Cream – Use full fat cream for the best results.

    Semi-Sweet Chocolate – Use good quality chocolate (either chocolate chips or baking chocolate bars)

    How to make this Easy Mousse

    First, crush the Oreo Cookies. You can use your food processor to make Oreo crumbs. Or, you can place the cookies in a ziplock bag and hit them with a rolling pin until they are crushed. Use Oreos with the cream. There is no need to separate them.

    For this recipe, let’s divide the whipping cream into 3 parts.

    1st Part – Roughly chop the chocolate and place it in a heatproof bowl. Heat cream on the stovetop until just simmering. You can even heat the cream in the microwave oven. Once you see the cream simmering around the edges, turn off the heat and immediately pour the warm cream over the chocolate. Stir until smooth. Let it cool down completely.

    2nd Part – Once the chocolate mixture is cooled completely, beat it using a hand mixer till it is mildly fluffy. In another bowl, beat some heavy cream to stiff peaks. Gently fold in the whipped cream into the chocolate ganache until well combined. Chocolate mousse is ready.

    3rd Part – Beat the remaining whipped cream to stiff peaks and keep it aside.

    Take few individual serving glasses. First, layer them with crushed Oreo Cookies. Add the chocolate mousse on top. Pipe a layer of beaten whipped cream. Top it with more Oreo Cookies. Serve.

    Note : This dessert is sweet and rich by itself. I have used plain, unsweetened whipping cream and have not added extra sugar. The sweetness from the Oreos and chocolate is good enough.

    How to store them

    The individual mousse cups can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

    The 3 Ingredient Oreo Mousse tastes great when eaten cold or you can keep it for some time at room temperature before serving.

    Ingredients
      

    For the Oreo Mousse

    • 20 Oreo Cookies
    • 150 ml Whipping Cream for ganache
    • 1/4 cup Whipping Cream for mousse
    • 115 gms Semi-sweet Chocolate

    For the Topping

    • 1 cup Whipping Cream
    • 6 Oreo Cookies optional

    Instructions
     

    For the Mousse

    • First, crush the Oreo Cookies. You can use your food processor to make Oreo crumbs. Or, you can place the cookies in a ziplock bag and hit them with a rolling pin until they are crushed.

    For the Topping

    • Beat the remaining whipped cream to stiff peaks and keep it aside.
    • Take few individual serving glasses. First, layer them with crushed Oreo Cookies. Add the chocolate mousse on top.
    • Pipe a layer of the beaten whipped cream. Top it with more Oreo Cookies. Serve chilled or at room temperature.

    I have used unsweetened plain whipping cream. The sweetness from the Oreos is good enough for this dessert.
