Tips to make the best Granola in your Air Fryer
Lining the basket and poking holes in the parchment paper is important. The holes allow air to circulate through the paper and help the granola crisp better without sticking to the air fryer basket.
Avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket to achieve an even crisp. It’s better to cook granola in smaller batches if needed. Overcrowding can lead to uneven cooking and a less crunchy result.
About halfway through the cooking time, gently shake the air fryer basket or give the granola mixture a light stir to ensure even browning on all sides.
Granola can go from perfectly toasted to burnt quickly, so keep a close eye on it during cooking. Cooking times may vary based on the air fryer model and ingredients.
To avoid drying out the dried fruits and prevent them from becoming overly crispy, add them to the granola after cooking and cooling down.
The sweetness level in granola is subjective, so feel free to adjust the amount of honey, maple syrup, or other sweeteners to your liking.
If you want to add chocolate chips, chia seeds, and coconut flakes to the easy granola recipe for extra flavour, stir them into the cooled granola rather than cooking them with the mixture to prevent burning.
Allow the air fryer granola to cool completely before transferring it to an airtight container. This ensures it maintains its crispiness and prevents condensation, which can make the granola lose its crunch.

How to store Homemade Granola
Cool Completely: Ensure that your homemade granola has cooled completely before storing. Warm granola can create condensation inside the storage container, leading to a loss of crispness.
Use an Airtight Container: Transfer the cooled granola to an airtight container with a secure lid. The airtight seal helps prevent air and moisture and keeps the granola fresh. Store the container in a cool, dry place.
When stored in an airtight container at room temperature, air fryer granola can stay fresh for up to 2 weeks. The granola maintains its crispy texture and delicious flavour throughout this time, making it a convenient and nutritious snack option. However, it is important to note that the shelf life may vary depending on the specific ingredients used and the storage conditions.
Freezing Options: If you want to extend the shelf life of your air fryer granola, freezing is a great option. Simply transfer the cooled granola to a freezer-safe container or resealable bag and store it in the freezer. Frozen air fryer granola can stay fresh for a few months, allowing you to enjoy it at your convenience.
To thaw frozen granola, remove it from the freezer and let it sit at room temperature for a few minutes. Alternatively, you can microwave it in short intervals, stirring in between, until it reaches your desired temperature.

I am so tempted to make granola at home. I do not have an air fryer but was wondering if I can use the same temperature and time for my oven?
Gayathri Vijayakumar says
Hey yes! you can definitely use the same temperature and time in the oven. I would recommend to check the granola midway and give it a stir. Maybe at about 7 or 8 minutes.
Karunya says
thank you, will try it this weekend!
