Ingredients
 
 

  • 3 tablespoon Oil
  • 1 cup Green Peas I used Frozen
  • 1 Onion
  • 2 Tomato
  • 1 Green Chilli
  • 2 tablespoon Cashewnuts
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 1 inch Cinnamon Stick
  • 1 Clove
  • 1 Cardamom
  • Salt as needed
  • ½ teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • 1&½ teaspoon Kashmiri Chilli Powder
  • ½ teaspoon Cumin Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Coriander Powder
  • 2 tablespoon Coriander Leaves finely chopped

Instructions
 

  • In a pan, heat oil over medium heat. Add onion, green chilli and saute till the colour of the onion slightly changes. Add cashews, ginger garlic paste. Saute till the raw smell goes away completely.
  • Add the chopped tomatoes, little coriander leaves and cook until they are completely mashed and blended.
  • Switch off, let the mixture cool down to room temperature and grind it to a smooth paste by adding little water.
  • Add oil to the same pan. Once hot, add cinnamon stick, cloves, cardamom. Saute for 30 seconds.
  • Add the ground masala paste. Mix in turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, Kashmiri red chili powder, and salt. Stir well and cook on a low flame for about 5 minutes.
  • Add the frozen green peas / boiled fresh green peas and a little water (if needed) to adjust consistency. Cover and cook for about 5 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and garnish the green peas masala gravy with fresh coriander leaves. Serve hot with your choice of main dish.
