Garlic Air Fryer Smashed Potatoes (Crispy and Easy Recipe)
Gayathri Vijayakumar
Garlic air fryer smashed potatoes are baby potatoes cooked until fork-tender, then smashed and seasoned with buttery garlic and seasonings before being air-fried to perfection.
Wash the baby potatoes thoroughly and pat them dry.
Place the potatoes in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Spray or brush 1 tablespoon melted butter or cooking oil over the potatoes.
Air fry the potatoes at 400°F (200°C) for 12-15 minutes or until they are fork-tender.
Remove the potatoes and place them on a tray. Using the back of a bowl or cup, gently smash each potato until flattened to about half an inch thick.
In a small bowl, mix the remaining butter/oil garlic powder, dried parsley, paprika powder, salt, and black pepper. Brush the garlic mixture onto both sides of the smashed potatoes.
Return the potatoes to the air fryer basket and air fry for 15 minutes or until they are crispy and golden brown, flipping halfway through. Cook the potatoes in multiple batches depending on the size of your air fryer.
Serve immediately and enjoy the irresistible crispy goodness of garlic air fryer smashed potatoes.
Top with fresh herbs (cilantro, parsley) or grated parmesan cheese.
Notes
While baby potatoes or mini potatoes work best for their size and texture, you can use larger potatoes or whole potatoes cut into smaller pieces for a similar effect. While smashing the potatoes, be gentle. Make sure you don't break the potatoes apart.
