A simple 1 minute microwave oreo mug cake that's perfect for late‑night cravings. With the texture of crushed Oreos and a gooey center, this dessert requires minimal cleanup and gives tasty results.
Break the oreo biscuits and add them to a mixie jar. Add cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder and grind to a coarse powder. Add milk to the above mixture and grind once. (This grinding part is optional. You can directly add the ingredients to a mug. I prefer this for an even texture. )
Brush some oil or melted butter to a microwave safe mug. Add the above oreo mixture to the mug. Add chopped chocolate or chocolate chips. Since we are grinding the ingredients, we can add a few crushed Oreo pieces for texture.
Microwave on high for 50–70 seconds. Start with 50 seconds and check. The cake should rise and look set on top; the center may be slightly moist but not raw. Do not overcook — it will dry out quickly.
Let the mug rest for 1 minute (it is very hot). Top with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, chocolate sauce, or a dusting of cocoa or crushed Oreos. Enjoy hot.
Notes
You can crush the cookies and mix the ingredients directly in the mug. I have used a mixie jar just for the convenience of blending it right. Start with less sugar and adjust according to your taste. Since oreo cookies are already sweet, you can omit the sugar as well.Start checking at 50 seconds and add 5–10 seconds if needed.
