These Easy Avocado Chocolate Truffles are one of the easiest desserts out there. Prepare this quick, easy and no-bake dessert with just a handful of simple ingredients.

    Easy Avocado Chocolate Truffles

I love chocolate. At least until a couple of months back, my pantry was loaded with chocolates and I ate them every single day. After a point, I got bored of it and started making healthy desserts like these to satisfy my sweet cravings. These avocado truffles, hands down, are one of the best alternatives to regular chocolate truffles.

Avocado + Chocolate is just amazing. The first time I heard about these truffles, I was very doubtful about this combination. But, trust me. It tastes great! Chocolate Truffle usually gets its creamy texture from Butter or Heavy Cream. Instead of those, we use avocado in this recipe for the silky and creamy texture. You can hardly taste the avocado. It tastes just like a regular chocolate truffle. Just delicious. You can’t stop with one!
This recipe is so simple to put together and you can easily involve your kids in making these truffles. A wonderful fun activity for them as well. Eat them as a snack or the next time you host a party, try making these truffles. Am sure your guests are going to be super impressed.

    Ingredients Used

    • Chocolate Chips: The flavour and richness of the dessert come from the chocolate. So, make sure you pick good quality chocolate for this recipe. Dark chocolate or semi-sweet chocolate chips can be used.
    • Mashed avocado: Use approximately one medium avocado for the best results. Around 3/4 cup when mashed.
    • Optional Toppings: Toppings are absolutely your choice. You can use unsweetened shredded coconut, cocoa powder, chopped nuts etc, chocolate sprinkles etc.

    How to make these truffles

Its very simple to prepare these truffles. They are sweet, rich , smooth and healthy! Hardly requires any work from your end to make this delicious no bake dessert.

Pulse or mash the avocado – You can either pulse the avocado in a food processor or mash the avocado with a fork. I mashed them with a fork.

Melt the chocolate – Place chocolate chips along with vanilla extract in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave at 30-second intervals, stirring after each interval, until completely melted. Stop heating as soon as it’s melted. I used the double boiler method. For this method, heat a saucepan with 1/4 cup water. Once the water starts boiling, place the bowl of chocolate chips + vanilla extract on top of the saucepan. Stir until the chocolate chips are melted and remove immediately.

Combine the ingredients – Add the melted chocolate to the bowl of mashed avocado and mix it thoroughly.

Chill the mixture – Place the truffle mixture in the fridge to set for 30 minutes.

Make the truffles – Once the chocolate avocado mixture has firmed up a bit, remove it from the fridge and make the truffles by rolling a tablespoon at a time into small balls. I prefer applying some oil on my hand while doing this so that the chocolate mixture doesn’t stick to the hands.

Roll the truffles in your favourite toppings–Fill a bowl with your choice of toppings and roll the truffles in it. I used finely chopped pistachios and shredded, unsweetened coconut.

    Storage Instructions

Store these healthy chocolate avocado truffles in the fridge for 4 days or in the freezer for a couple of months. Pack them in freezer-safe bags and store them.

But I am sure these truffles are definitely not going to last that long! They will be gone in minutes.

    Points to note

Depending on your taste, you can adapt this recipe. I used semi-sweet chocolate chips. If you prefer dark chocolate, please go ahead and use them. You can also use sugar-free chocolate chips and add a bit of stevia for the sweet taste.

You can use any kind of nut for the toppings. Almonds, Hazelnuts, Pecans, Walnuts or Pistachios! Everything goes well.

Use ripened avocados and good quality chocolate chips for the best truffles.

    Always keep them chilled.
