Bread Pizza Cups is an easy pizza recipe made using bread, roasted vegetables, pizza sauce and cheese. When you are craving for pizza and don’t have the time or expertise to prepare a pizza base, this recipe comes in very handy. Bread Pizza Cups can be served for breakfast, lunchbox or can be served as a party appetizer to flatter your guests. These also make a good snack option for kids.
How is it different from Bread Pizza?
You would have seen a lot of bread pizza recipes on various blogs. These bread pizza cups are just a fancy version of the bread pizza. Instead of serving them as a normal bread slice, we place them in a muffin pan to give the fancy cup shape. The outcome is very cute. We often look for ideas to please guests at a party or to attract kids to eat their snacks/lunch. An easy recipe like a bread pizza can be made interesting by giving it a different shape.

What do we need to make these Bread Pizza Cups?
Bread Slices – I have used whole wheat bread. You can use any bread of your choice.
Pizza Sauce – I have used store-bought pizza sauce. You can use homemade pizza sauce or tomato sauce.
Seasoning – Oregano, Italian Seasoning, Red chilli flakes can be used.
Vegetables for topping – Use vegetables of your choice. I have used jalapeno, capsicum, onion, mushroom, sweet corn.
Cheese – Use mozzarella cheese or any shredded cheese that you have in hand. I have used shredded mozzarella cheese.
Remove the crust from the bread and roll the bread slice as thin as possible. Prepare a muffin pan by greasing it with enough butter. Coat one side of the bread slice with little butter and place the buttered side down in the muffin pan. Meanwhile, saute the vegetables and prepare the filling for the bread pizza cups.
Fill the bread cups with pizza sauce, vegetables, pizza seasoning and sprinkle cheese on top. Bake till the bread turns crisp and brown. It takes around 10-12 mins
The bread slices can be baked separately till brown and crisp on the previous day. You can store them in an air tight container and fill them with the desired filling and serve next day. Pizza sauce, tomato sauce, sour cream, mayonnaise are sauce options. Fruits, raw vegetables, cooked beans are filling options. You can also fill them with green chutney, onion, tomato, capsicum, carrot and top them with sev. It tastes like chaat. The options are endless. Get as creative as you can!
You may wonder what to do with the crusts that we cut out. I usually make breadcrumbs or use them up to make bread upma along with few more bread slices. This way, you don’t have to worry about wastage and still create a cute looking snack.

Bread Pizza Cups
- 10 Bread Slices
- 1 Jalapeno
- 1 Capsicum
- 1 Onion
- 6 Mushrooms
- 1/4 cup Sweet corn
- 1/4 cup Pizza sauce
- Grated cheese
- Italian seasoning
- Red chilli flakes
- Cut the crust of the bread slices and thinly roll the bread slices using a roller.
- Prepare a muffin pan by applying butter.
- Apply butter on one side of the bread slice and place the buttered slice down in the muffin pan.
- Add 1 tsp pizza sauce on each bread slice.
- Saute the vegetables with little oil in a pan for around 5 minutes.
- Add these vegetables, italian seasoning, oregano & grated cheese on top of the sauce.
- Preheat oven at 400F/200C. Place the muffin tray in the oven. Bake for 10-12 minutes or till the bread slices turn brown and crisp.
- Remove from oven. Add chilli flakes on top. Serve hot.
